THE Leaf

This leaf,The leaf,Singular leaf,
Grew and attached to a
tree,
taking its root on it.
It sways with the
wind,
Glitters with the
break of light at dawn,
And wiggles with the sweet chirping of the birds..
This
Tree, The tree,
was abundant with
leaves day by day,
and slowly took less and less notice of That leaf.
Spring,Summer,Autumn,Winter
The seasons came and the seasons went.
The leaves grew, blossomed, died, and fell.
Yet this
leaf,
Held on strong with its roots,
Never leaving the tree.
Autumn and winter brought along the
loss and balding of the tree,
But at the corner end, the leaf stood.
Spring and Summer came,
New leaves grew again,
overtaking the branches of the tree,
Covering the sight of the leaf.
Yet, there it still stood...
Seasons came and seasons went again,
Until finally,
The leaf could no longer hold on with its
frail roots,
deprived of attention and nourishment from the tree.
It let go of its clench,
Drift with the light Sneeze of the
wind
and fell to the ground.
Till the wind blows,
lifting it up into the air, flying
on its path of freedom.
Alone, but Free
